Our Mission and Vision

  • To create a society where disabled children and their parents are empowered to live their best lives, supported by family and communities.
  • To actively serve vulnerable disabled children and their families to achieve lifelong successes through quality health, empowerment and knowledge.
  • Increase access to comprehensive primary healthcare services to the medically underserved and voiceless.
  • Advocacy for civil and humanitarian rights of the disabled children and their families.
  • Eliminate any form of stigma against the disabled and the vulnerable in marginalized areas and communities.
  • Promote and create wider inclusion of children with disabilities.

Board of Trustees

Dr. Sheila Wamahiu

Dr. Sheila Wamahiu

Dr. Wamahiu develops our research approach and training programs. She is a co-founder and the founding Chair of the Women Educational Researchers of Kenya (WERK). She has also served in senior positions including as UNICEF’s Chief of Education in Uganda (2004-2008) and Head of Development Studies at Kenyatta University (1992-1994).

John Kamanga

John Kamanga

John guides our approach within Massai communities, a vital role to ensure we are accepted. Currently the Director of the South Rift Association of Land Owners (SORALO), an affiliate organization of the African Conservation Centre.

Dr. Rajesh Jari

Dr. Rajesh Jari

Dr. Jari helps to organise doctors, surgeons and other healthcare professions to attend our medical camps. Dr. Jari is Board Certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and in pain management and is the current president of the Maryland Chapter of the American Society for Interventional Pain Physicians.

Andrew provides various resources to help with us with our missions.

Paddy O’Donnell

Paddy develops fundraising strategies for the Foundation and helps it to grow internationally.

Angela Njuguna

Esther Njogu

(Director) Is the health care coordinator for HTF with over 18 years’ experience in geriatrics, paediatric psychiatrics, homecare nursing, and palliative care

Elizabeth Njuguna

(Founding Director) With over eighteen years’ experience in the medical profession, Elizabeth has spent her career advocating for children living with disability and studying how health issues affect children in a school environment. Liz is a certified and registered physiotherapist with the Kenya Society of Physiotherapist Association.

George Njoroge

(Ambassador) George is the face of HFT. Having developed cerebral palsy at birth, George has being actively advocating for awareness and acceptance of children living with disability.
